Health Department

The services offered at the City of St. Joseph Health Department are confidential and free of charge unless otherwise noted. At the health department, we believe that growing up is a life-long adventure. Our goal is to provide services and information to help our community stay healthy and grow up happy.

We aim to prevent illness, improve and protect the well being of our citizens, and encourage healthy behavior through proactive measures.

Health department services are available to everyone in our community.

The department also ensures public health preparedness and establishes the capacity to respond effectively to public health threats and other emergencies through its emergency planning and preparedness division. Their efforts focus on assessment and planning, surveillance and epidemiological capacity, laboratory capacity, communications, information technology, risk communication, and education and training.
