A variety of interactive programs and educational materials are provided
to individuals and groups in Northwest Missouri in an effort to reduce
the spread of sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV/AIDS. Special
outreach events in at-risk communities are also provided.
Free educational programs, information and outreach services are available through our health educator. Persons who are HIV positive may receive help through our case managers for medications, food and nutrition assistance, wellness education and social activities.
HIV Case Management
HIV case management is offered to anyone diagnosed with HIV infection or AIDS disease regardless of income. Services, offered free of charge, include, but are not limited to, medical referral and monitoring, referral for spiritual and mental health, individualized plan of care and disease management, education and emotional support. Funds are available through the Ryan White federally funded program and the Missouri Department of Health to assist with medications, laboratory services, physician visits, nutrition, housing, utilities insurance premiums, and medical co-pays. The extent of assistance available is dependent on specific income guidelines.
The City of St. Joseph Health Department case management team provides confidential services to clients residing in the following counties: Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Caldwell, Carroll, Clinton, Daviess, DeKalb, Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Holt, Livingston, Mercer and Nodaway.
