Community-wide outreach and education is the focus of the Community Health Division. We are leading the way by establishing programs and collaborations to make important changes that profoundly affect the health of our city. Using tools such as community health assessments and building partnerships, the Community Health staff look for ways to improve and create opportunities for St. Joseph residents and visitors to live a healthier, more fulfilling life. Outreach and education are a key component of our Community Health Division, and we have staff available to your organization if you'd like a speaker or health fair participant.

Community Health on-site services include testing, treatment, and counseling for Hepatitis A, B & C and for sexually transmitted diseases. Office visits are done by appointment and testing costs $10. Community Health Case Managers offer assistance to HIV / AIDS patients for medications, food and nutrition assistance, housing, utility assistance, transportation, wellness education, and social activities.
