About the Board

This board makes recommendations of approval or disapproval to the chief building official on all proposed materials, devices, or methods of construction that are not specifically authorized or prescribed by Chapter 7, Article III (of the Code of Ordinances) and have been referred to by the chief building official. The board also makes recommendations to the chief building official and the director of public works and transportation when requested to do so by the chief building official or the director of public works and transportation. Once a year, a report is prepared for the council and the city manager regarding its recommendation concerning any changes to be made in the electrical code.
