Communities with a population between 10,000 and 100,000 people are required to obtain a permit to discharge stormwater to waters of the state under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES). The current permit for the city of St. Joseph was issued in March 2017 and expires on September 30, 2021. Under the permit, the city is required to submit an updated five-year Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP) with their permit renewal application. The SWMP details how the Stormwater Management Program will be implemented. Please take time to read through the draft SWMP linked above and provide your feedback.
A public hearing will be held at City Hall on March 30, 2021 at 6pm.
