Free 8-week evidence-based strength training program designed for older adults. Meet for 16 one-hour exercise classes, for 8 weeks from 10-11 am on March 1 through April 22, 2021. Improve your quality of life through warm-up exercises, eight strengthening exercises with or without hand and ankle weights, and cool-down stretches.
Measure your progress through a series of measurements the first and last days of class.
This program will help your body and mind function at their best. Strength training increases muscle strength, improves balance, enhances flexibility, strengthens bones, relieves arthritis, helps control weight, lifts depression, reduces stress, and reduces risks for heart disease.
All sessions are Free and will be held at the Joyce Raye Patterson 50+ Activity Center, 100 S 10th St., St. Joseph.
